Home Theatre System Configurations
5.1, 7.1 and 7.2 are still popular configurations and a very good place to start. However If you want to add more channels for Dolby Atmos you can at any time.
Dolby Atmos systems are made by adding
2 or 4 ceiling speakers
to a 5.1, 7.1, 7.2 etc, to make it 5.1.2, 5.1.4, 7.1.2, 7.1.4 and so on.
Simply organise a local HT installer or electrician to install the in ceiling speakers or install them yourself according to the information on spacing and and angles in the Dolby Atmos Speaker Setup Guide.
Accento Dynamica ceiling speakers available: 6 inch version $200/pair and 8 inch version $250/pair.
DTS:X For DTS:X systems 5.1, 7.1, 7.2, Dolby Atmos or Auro 3d layouts are still a good place to start but you have greater flexibility in speaker placement and number of speakers which you can customise for your room because DTS: X does not rely on predefined channels sent to set speaker placements but mixes the positions of sounds in the receiver based on where your speakers are positioned.
With a compatible receiver you can upgrade any 5.1, 7.1, 7.2 etc. system to Dolby Atmos now or at any time in the future simply by adding the additional speakers.
Simply phone or email to discuss any configuration you have in mind or just to discuss which system would suit your room or requirements best.
Home theatre systems in room visualisation
Some popular example systems.
Surround speakers for most systems can be mounted anywhere from about sitting ear level to above standing head height depending on your room / requirements (using speakers from the Firesprite (bookshelf) or Fusion (flat panel range). Or stand mounted, or small floorstanders could be used such as from the Sentinel range.
Subwoofer placement is very flexible, but towards the middle of the front is better when only one sub is used.
Bookshelf or flat panel speakers can also be used as fronts either stand or wall mounted.
Build your own box Kit
Prices are even less for a system in kit form. This is useful if you have woodworking abilities and are able to make your own cabinets. The kit will come with fully built crossovers, drivers, cabinet dimensions and instructions, grill clips/cloth, vents, screws, etc., and free advice over the telephone if you have any queries or difficulties.
Compatibility with all brands and models of home theatre receivers and amplifiers
Because the majority of Ascension speakers are 8 ohms they can be used with any brand or model of home theatre receiver or stereo amplifier without problems with compatibility. Some other brands have low impedance speakers of 4 ohms which are not compatible with many home theatre receivers.
